The Fire in Orange County...

On Sunday,October 21st Santiago Canyon broke out in flames. Where the fire started was only about 2 1/2 miles from Mike's station. At about 6:00 pm we got the call that Mike was in route to the fire and he'd call when he could. Conner, Claire and I were having a wonderful dinner with Papa Nick and Grandma Murdy. The fire was about 1 1/2 miles from their house. Luckily, the fire continues to travel away from Papa and Grandma Moffitt's house. Daddy was assigned to the fire line where he was for the next 4 days. On Monday morning Mike called to tell us where he was and that he was fine. By this time the fire had traveled so fast and far, so many homes were threatened.

We did not leave the house for days. The air conditions were awful. Besides we were waiting to hear from Mike. We said our prayers over and over that God would protect Mike and keep him safe. He did!!

Here are a few pictures of the fire and an area that Mike was most of the time.

It is nice to have Mike home with us. It seems like life was put on hold while he was away. Reality is, it was...
These fireman that fight these fires and continue to save lives are true hero's...

The Pumpkin Patch, The Pirate and his sissy...

We took the kids back to the pumpkin patch with the hopes that we might get some cute pictures of them together. Well... It did not work. Conner was a ham for the camera but sissy just wanted to eat the hay.

Please give me more hay mommy!!!

While Mike was away fighting the fire Conner took really good care of sissy and I. Conner insisted on wearing his Halloween costume from last year. We was a Pirate ALL day long.

Arrrrrr....

Claire is almost 9 months old and getting so BIG. I had to lower the mattress in her crib on Sunday because our princess loves to stand. If she can reach it, she will pull herself up. It is amazing how independent she is. She is up on all four and rocking, hasn't figured out how to move forward yet. I think she'll be on the move in the next few days. In the mean time she is rolling all over the place. She can take herself from a laying down position and sit up too. Everyday she amazes us even more.

By the way... EVERYTHING goes in her mouth...

Oktoberfest.

The night before the fires broke out we took a trip to Oktoberfest. I was fun, loud and cold. We had a great meal and the guys had some good beer.

Claire loves watching all the dancing!.!.!.

Grandma and Papa

Conner had a blast with his cousins.
Check out Noah, Conner and Benji...

Uncle Doug, Avery and Emma enjoying their meal

Our first trip to the ER

On Saturday night we took our first trip to the emergency room.

While Conner was getting out of the bath tub he slipped and hit the side of the bath tub. I instantly new it was going to be bad. I was able to control the bleeding and load him into the car and take him to Irvine Regional ER where we had the best care ever. Conner was such a big, strong boy. He never made a peep!

The ER Doctor and nurse were about to close the wound with butterfly strips and then glue it shut.

This was such a scary time. Mike was working, Claire was sleeping and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I am just so thankful that Conner was such a trooper.

My Big Boy.....

Conner loves the dirt. A few weeks ago when were out at the river we took lunch out to the middle of the desert... Conner had more fun playing than eating.

Gold Fishies.....

Here is a sneak peak at part of Claire's "Gold Fish" Halloween costume. I am sure she is going to hold this against me for the rest of my life but she'll understand one day - hopefully!!!!

Isn't she cute?!?!?

Pumpkin Patch.... Yippee!!!!

We took our first trip to the pumpkin patch. Conner absolutely LOVES going to the pumpkin patch. Why wouldn't he love it... He gets to ride the ponies (and goats - you'll see what I mean), play with the goats, chickens and ducks... Run free through the pumpkins and ride all the fun rides with he girlfriend.

Mommy more dirt please.!.!.!.!.

Conner asked to go play in his sand box in the backyard only he took a small detour to the dirt on the side of our house. I only wish that I had a pictures of the bath water and the bath tub once I finally got him into the house for a bath. The water was black and the aftermath was mud...

Cheese!.!.!.!.

8 months old.....

I AM 8 MONTHS OLD!!!!
On October 8th Claire turned 8 months old.
What a ham!

All Claire wants to do is stand. She will pull herself up on anything that she can get her hands on.

Second Tooth is in.....

We are happy to report that Claire's second tooth has broken through the gum and is on it's way up.... I can see it a little next to the other BIG tooth that is already there. She looks so cute with her first tooth, I can't wait to see her with the second...

Rally Night at the Big "A"

We took Conner on a very special "date" to the BIG "A" for The Angel's Rally night. We had so much fun....
Our night started off with Grandma showing up to stay with sissy. Then Mike, Conner and I loaded up and headed to Anaheim Stadium. Once we got there we found some awesome seats and the event began.... We were able to see a live performance by The English Beat, while they were playing the US Army Golden Knights parachuted into the stadium and landed on the field. That was something that was truly amazing to see. Shortly after, the USC Marching band performed. Wow! (Conner loved this too, he was able to dance a little more)
Then a few famous Angel players came out and spoke... Nothing like seeing the great Tim Salmon (King Fish), Jim Abbott, Bobby Grich and Chuck Finley. (Can you tell WE(I) LOVE BASEBALL)....
After a few hot dogs and some yummy cotton candy we were able to watch the most amazing fire works show ever.... Conner LOVED it!
On our way out the stadium we came across Rex Hudler (another famous Angels player, motivational speaker and currently an announcer for the Angels). Conner was a lucky little boy who was able to get a photo with him.
It was a wonderful evening and a lot of fun...
Conner was such a BIG boy!!! I think he was happy that his sister wasn't included.

GO ANGELS!!!!
